Entering my 46th year (!) in journalism come July. Spent 20 years in newspapers, the last four as sport editor and then feature write with our very own Newsday (a much different publication back in 1990s). Left to help start ESPN Magazine, where I spent 15 years, the last chasing the steroids story MLB and writing about the Duke Lacrosse case, where I reunited with old friend John Danowski, who became the Lax coach at Duke. Turned to writing books 10 years ago for Little Brown & Co. My second, a biography of Yogi Berra, comes out April 14.
