Reunion Update July 17, 2020

Dear Classmates: I was hoping to see you all tonight. It is now my fervent hope that you and your families are all safe and sound, weathering an incomprehensible turn of events. Perhaps the greatest twist of irony is that what started out as the epicenter – the metropolitan area where most of you live – is now the state where you will find a good portion of the rest of us.

I assure you though that everything is still in place for us to party only 322 days from now. Perhaps given the current state of the pandemic that may not seem long enough. By a show of hands, however, who wants to join me in celebrating the weekend of June 4, 2021 — all happy and healthy???

Check out the website. There are some really great pictures of “now and then”. Please send more pictures to the website, including ones that you may have posted on Facebook. If you need a reminder about the event or want to know who is still planning to attend (just about everyone!!), it’s all there, too. And, you may now make your hotel reservations by clicking on the link (same price, same everything else).

Stay safe. Carolyn “Cookie” Herman

Reunion Update April 4, 2020

There simply are no words to describe what is happening in the world at this time. But, based on the overwhelming support we received from you, the Executive Committee – a bunch of “do-bodies” – reached the decision that outright cancellation of our Reunion was not an option.  We would look only to trying to reschedule it. Much thought and discussion (by email, of course) went into the decision. We recognized that there would be no perfect date.  We just knew we had to move it far enough out to satisfy what is currently known about the spread of the virus and the potential for resurgence once normal activities resumed – which they will – so that everyone could safely travel and attend.

We would be remiss if we didn’t thank our Event partners – the Carltun, the Marriott, and Party Up Productions --  all of whom have worked with us as we rescheduled despite their own difficulties and depleted staff.  None of these partners asked for an increase in price; in effect we are receiving 2018 prices in 2021. Of course, there are no guarantees, but based on the exemplary reputation of each of these companies, we believe that we are in good hands.

Welcome to the East Meadow High School Class of 1970 “50ish” Reunion!!!!!! We still promise you a spectacular event of a lifetime!

Main Event: Friday, June 4, 2021, The Carltun, 7:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Ticket Price: $175.00 by check and or $181 by credit card or PayPal. Visit to the Past: Planning to reschedule for June 5, 2021

Refund Policy:  We know that some of you may already have a conflict, may simply not want to wait or have other reasons for requesting a refund. While we truly hope to see you, refunds will be provided as follows: All refunds will be sent by a personal check in the amount of $150.00 to the address you provided on your registration. If you paid by credit card or through your PayPal account, unfortunately, we cannot repay the additional processing fee because we simply do not have it. Your request for a refund needs to be made in writing (by email to hermanlaw@comcast.net is fine).
